Who we are

The Portable AC Coolizi team is made up of mechanical engineers, product designers, climate researchers, and writers who have spent the better part of a decade studying how people actually live with the weather — not how buildings are theoretically supposed to keep them comfortable.

We are not a hardware company. We are an education and curation resource, dedicated to helping households understand what personal cooling can and can't do, and how to choose a solution that genuinely fits their life. Our independence is, we believe, the most important thing we offer.

Why we started

Personal cooling has been around for decades, but the conversation around it has been stuck in a strange place. Manufacturers push specifications that don't matter to most users. Reviews compare units by features that no household actually needs. The actual experience of living with a portable cooler — the small joys, the practical limits, the maintenance habits that make it last — is rarely discussed in the open.
